Hits 1 Weekend Countdown - 2021 January 16 (MLK Weekend)

This is the third countdown of 2021, for the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday weekend of January 16. Last week, Harry Styles' Golden reclaimed the top spot for the 3rd time overall and the first time in 2021. Will there be a new 3rd song to reach number 1 in 2021? Scroll down to find out.

This week there are quite a few songs dropping out of the countdown since last week there were no removals or additions. Five songs are dropping out, which means that 5 new songs are taking their place in the countdown. The new songs are from artists Ariana Grande, Chris Brown/Young Thug, Justin Bieber, Harry Styles, and Olivia Rodrigo.

The five songs leaving the countdown are: Overwhelmed by Royal & The Serpent, Baby I'm Jealous by Bebe Rexha & Doja Cat, Dynamite by BTS, Mood by 24kGoldn ft. Iann Dior, and Heather from Conan Gray.

The fourth column in the table shows a song's change in rankings compared to last week. If there is no change, there will be a 0. New songs (compared to last week) will have a dash (-).

This is the 14th countdown of 2021 and the first one in April and the second quarter. Last week, Taylor Swift's "willow" ended Drivers License's streak at #1 and became the fifth different song to reach #1 this year. Will it continue to be #1? Scroll down to find out. This is the 13th countdown of 2021 and the final one in March and the first quarter. Last week, Drivers License was #1 for the fourth week in a row. It is now the outright the top song of 2021 with four week at #1. Will it extend its time at #1? Scroll down to find out. This week, there are 3 songs entering and 3 leaving. Joshua Bassett's "Lie Lie Lie" (was #9), Sigala/James Arthur's "Lasting Lover" (#19), and 24kGoldn's "3,2,1" (#26) are all leaving the countdown. Joshua Bassett sets a new record on the countdown for the highest ranking song to fall out of the countdown from one week to the next. The previous record was the number 13 position for Ariana Grande's "34+35" just two weeks ago on March 13. Of those 3, "Lasting Lover" was the oldest song, being on the countdown since its premiere on January 1st.
