SiriusXM Hits 1 Countdown Listings

This is the fifth countdown of 2021 -- for the weekend of Saturday, January 30, which means this is the final countdown for January. Last week, Monsters from All Time Low/Demi Lovato/Blackbear was #1 for the 4th time overall. Will it be #1 again for a 5th week overall, or will a new song finally take its place to become the third #1 song of 2021? Scroll down to find out. This week there was a lot of movement on the countdown, 6 songs are leaving the countdown which means 6 new ones will take their places. Of the 24 songs that remain from last week, only 3 stayed in their same spot. Dropping out of the countdown are: "Goodbye" from Shalen (only lasted one week), "Holding On" from Iann Dior, "Monster" from Shawn Mendes & Justin Bieber, "Laugh Now Cry Later" from Drake & Lil Durk, "Bang!" from AJR, and "Holiday" from Lil Nas X.

This is the fourth Wutchuwant countdown listing for 2021 and the final one for January. Unfortunately, I was having technical difficulties with my radio claiming it ran out of storage space. Therefore, I only got Monday's and Thursday's complete countdowns. Wednesday's did not record and I only got the first 6 (#15-#10) on Tuesday. It appeared this week (except for Monday) that Mikey Piff, at a minimum, either introduced the countdown or announced the number 1 song. I don't think anyone filled in for Mikey Piff on Monday, because I heard no DJ announcements for over an hour after the end of the countdown. The Wutchuwant countdown airs Monday to Thursday at 10pm ET/7pm PT for one hour and showcases the 15 most wanted songs for the day.

This is the fifth posting of Hit-Bound with Mikey Piff in 2021 and the final one in January. This week there are four new songs on Hit-Bound from the artists Why Don't We, Machine Gun Kelly & Halsey, SZA, and Zara Larsson & Young Thug. The four songs leaving hitbound are "Lie Lie Lie" by Joshua Bassett, "My Head & My Heart" by Ava Max, "Heat Waves" by Glass Animals, and "One Whole Day" by Dixie D'Amelio/Whiz Khalifa. The first three of those are 'graduating' to the Weekend Countdown with Spyder Harrison. It also appears that the number of Hit-Bound songs has been reduced from 16 to 15, bringing the total number of songs to 19 instead of 20.

This is the fourth countdown of 2021 for the weekend of Saturday, January 23. Last week, Monsters by All Time Low/Demi Lovato/Blackbear reclaimed the top spot from Harry Styles to make it #1 for the 3rd time overall. This is the fourth posting of Hit-Bound with Mikey Piff in 2021. This week there is only one new song from Zoe Wees -- the first artist featured on "Hits 1 to Watch" last year. Nearly all of the songs on this week's Hit-Bound were also on last week's airing, with the exception of the aforementioned new song from Zoe Wees and Pop Smoke's What You Know Bout Love (which I didn't count as being new since it was already on the Weekend Countdown).

This is the third Wutchuwant countdown listing for 2021, starting on Martin Luther King Jr. Day Monday, January 18th. Due to the holiday, Mikey Piff wasn't there for Monday's countdown and it didn't seem like anyone else was filling in. Therefore, the song announcements were all automated. For the rest of the week, only on Tuesday and Thursday did Mikey Piff introduce the countdown -- all of the #1 song annoucements were automated with no commentary from Mikey Piff. This is the third countdown of 2021, for the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday weekend of January 16. This countdown more heavily takes into account listener requests through social media and fluctuates a lot more than Hit-Bound or the Weekend Countdown.
