Hit-Bound ft. Ryan Sampson - 2021 February 26

This is the 9th posting of Hit-Bound in 2021 and this is the first week this year that there is a substitute host. Ryan Sampson from the Morning Mash Up is filling in for Mikey Piff who has been gone the whole week of February 22. Ryan Sampson's host commentary between songs was much more condensed than Mikey Piff's, which allowed an extra song to be played (for a total of 17 Hit-Bound and 21 total songs). This week there are a record seven new songs on Hit-Bound. Also, not included in the 7, there is 1 song re-entering Hit-Bound after dropping out of the Weekend Countdown, "Forget Me Too" by Machine Gun Kelly and Halsey. The seven new songs are from the artists 24kGoldn, Masked Wolf, Ruel, Leah Noble, Daya, Tiesto, and Lil Huddy. The 7 songs leaving hitbound are "Fix It to Break It" by Clinton Kane, "Way Less Sad" by AJR, "Girls Like Us" by Zoe Wees, "Overdrive" by Conan Gray, "Body" by Megan Thee Stallion, "Mo

Wutchuwant Countdown - 2021, Week of February 22

This is the eighth Wutchuwant Countdown listing of 2021 and the first with a substitute host. Mikey Piff was gone all this week, so Hits 1's Sunday afternoon host Alex D filled in. Alex D is also the one who does the entertainment updates, ever since Lauren 'Fireball' left a few months ago.

Hits 1 Weekend Countdown - 2021 February 20

This is the eighth countdown of 2021: Last week, Levitating from Dua Lipa and DaBaby held onto the #1 spot for the third week in a row. Can it hold on to #1 for a fourth week in a row to become the longest running #1 song in 2021? Scroll down to find out. This week, the number of songs entering & exiting the countdown increased by one to three. There was a bit more movement on the chart compared to last week: Of the existing 27 songs, 6 stayed in their same spot and 2 moved up by one spot. That means that 70% of the existing songs moved up or down by more than 1 spot. Nine songs dropped down in position on the chart with an average decrease of -3.3. Twelve songs moved up on the countdown with an average increase of +3.0. Average movement on the chart overall was +0.2 spots, including the 6 songs with no movement. Dropping out of the countdown are "Prisoner" from Miley Cyrus & Dua Lipa, "Lonely" from Justin Bieber & Benny Blanco, and "Fix It to

Hit-Bound with Mikey Piff - 2021 February 19

This is the eighth posting of Hit-Bound with Mikey Piff in 2021. This week there are three new songs on Hit-Bound. Those three are from the artists G-Eazy with Chris Brown, AJR, and Conan Gray. I'm not counting Clinton Kane's song which keeps bouncing between the Weekend Countdown and Hit-Bound. The four songs leaving hitbound are "SO DONE" from The Kid LAROI, "Stay Next To Me" from Quinn XCII/Chelsea Cutler, "Good Days" from SZA, and "Love Story (Taylor's Version)" from Taylor Swift. The latter two are graduating from Hit-Bound to the Weekend Countdown. Again, because she's "Hits 1 To Watch" for February, Jessia's song "I'm not Pretty" is both on the Weekend Countdown and Hit-Bound at the same time. It has also been the first (opening) song to Hit-Bound for the past several weeks now.

Wutchuwant Countdown - 2021, Week of February 15

This is the seventh Wutchuwant countdown listing of 2021, for the week of Presidents' Day. As is now becoming usual, Mikey Piff didn't host the countdown on Monday nor Wednesday but was on later in the evening.

Hits 1 Weekend Countdown - 2021 February 13

Welcome to the seventh countdown of 2021 for the Valentine's and President's Day Weekend. Last week, Levitating from Dua Lipa and DaBaby held onto the #1 spot for the second week in a row. Will it go for a third week in a row at #1, or will a new song become the fourth distinct #1 song of 2021? Scroll down to find out. Compared to the past few weeks, there weren't that many songs entering or leaving the countdown - only 2. There also wasn't that much movement on the chart: Of the existing 28, 8 stayed in their same spot and 5 moved up or down by only one spot. Dropping out of the countdown are "Overwhelmed" from Royal & The Serpent and "Deep End" from Foushee.

Hit-Bound with Mikey Piff - 2021 February 12

This is the seventh posting of Hit-Bound with Mikey Piff in 2021 and the second in February. It looks like there are 16 Hit-Bound songs this week compared to the 15 last week. This week there are four new songs on Hit-Bound. Those songs are from the artists Travis Scott & HVME, Alexander 23, Sara Kays, and Taylor Swift. The three songs leaving hitbound are "Forget Me Too" by Machine Gun Kelly & Halsey, "Lotus Inn" by Why Don't We, and "Goodbye" by Shaylen. Likely because she's a "Hits 1 To Watch" for February, Jessia's song "I'm not Pretty" is both on the Weekend Countdown and Hit-Bound at the same time. Only one of the three songs that left is moving over to the Weekend Countdown, "Forget Me Too" by Machine Gun Kelly & Halsey. Shaylen's and Why Don't We's songs are not moving over to the Weekend Countdown.

Wutchuwant Countdown - 2021, Week of February 8

This is the sixth Wutchuwant countdown listing for 2021 and the second one for February. It seems like now that Mikey Piff doesn't do the countdowns on Mondays and Wednesdays anymore. Though, he was DJ-ing on Hits 1 later in the evening in the hour after the countdown. Also, my radio unfortunately ran out of storage part-way through the countdown on Wednesday, so I only got numbers 15 to 5. The Wutchuwant countdown airs Monday to Thursday at 10pm ET/7pm PT for one hour and showcases the 15 most wanted songs for the day.

Hits 1 Weekend Countdown - 2021 February 06

Welcome to the first countdown for the second month of the year and the sixth in 2021. Last week, Levitating from Dua Lipa and DaBaby finally became the third distinct number one song of 2021. Will it be #1 again for a second week in a row, or will a new song become the fourth distinct #1 song of 2021? How much will Olivia Rodrigo rise in the Weekend Countdown, given that she's still #1 on Billboard's Hot 100. Scroll down to find out. Similar to last week, there was a lot of movement on the chart. There are 5 new songs this week and only 2 of the existing 25 stayed in their same spot. Dropping out of the countdown are: "Save Myself" from Ashe, "Skin" from Sabrina Carpenter (only lasted one week), "Wonder" from Shawn Mendes, "Holy" from Justin Bieber & Chance The Rapper, and "Take You Dancing" from Jason Derulo.

Hit-Bound with Mikey Piff - 2021 February 05

This is the sixth posting of Hit-Bound with Mikey Piff in 2021 and the first one in February. This week there are (a new 2021 record) six new songs on Hit-Bound. Those songs are from the artists Saweetie & Doja Cat, Sabrina Carpenter, Mike Posner, Blackbear & Wiz Khalifa, Jessia, and Tate McRae. The six songs leaving hitbound are "WITHOUT YOU" by The Kid LAROI, "Deep" by Foushee, "Space Girl" by Frances Forever, "Fly Away" by Tones & I, "Fix It to Break It" by Clinton Kane, and "Overwhelmed" by Royal & The Serpent. Of those songs, five - meaning all but one -- "Fly Away" by Tones & I, "Fix It to Break It" by Clinton Kane, "Deep" by Foushee, "WITHOUT YOU" by The Kid LAROI, and "Overwhelmed" by Royal & The Serpent -- are moving over to the Weekend Countdown. "Skin" from Sabrina Carpenter has dropped out of the Weekend Countdown after its debut

Wutchuwant Countdown - 2021, Week of February 1

This is the fifth Wutchuwant countdown listing for 2021 and the first one for February. Thankfully, my radio was working correctly again and I was able to record all of the countdowns. Mikey Piff was only there for the countdown on Tuesday and Thursday, Monday and Wednesday had automated announcements. Piff did come on the air Monday after the countdown and I included an audio clip of that. I'm unsure if he hosted later on Wednesday, I didn't hear any DJ announcements through 8:10 pm PT. The Wutchuwant countdown airs Monday to Thursday at 10pm ET/7pm PT for one hour and showcases the 15 most wanted songs for the day.
