This is the 20th countdown of 2021 and the second week with guest hosts. The Morning Mashup crew of Stanley T, Ryan Sampson, and Nicole are filling in for Spyder Harrison. This will be the last week they will be filling in for Spyder, he will be returning on Monday, May 17 to DJ during the mid-day and to host next weekend's countdown.

Last week, "We're Good" from Dua Lipa held the #1 spot for a second week in a row. Will it get to be #1 for a third week, or will another song become the 8th different #1 song this year? Scroll down to find out.

This week, there are 2 songs leaving and entering. "Calling My Phone" from Lil Tjay/6LACK (was #28) and "willow" from Taylor Swift (was #23) are both leaving the countdown this week. Lil Tjay and 6LACK's song never went above #28 on the countdown since it entered on April 10 and Taylor Swift's song rapidly fell on May 1, the week after a new #1 song took its place on the countdown.

The 2 new songs are "Higher Power" from Coldplay at #30 and "Best Friend" from Saweetie/Doja Cat at #23. Saweetie and Doja Cat's song was on Hit-Bound for many weeks before leaving on March 12. Coldplay's song skipped Hit-Bound but had been featured in the past few weeks as new music.

For the 28 existing songs, 2 are staying in place and 9 are moving up or down by only 1 spot [6 up and 3 down]. So 17 (60%) of those 28 songs moved by more than 1 spot. Of those, 8 dropped down in position with an average decrease of -5.88. The other 9 moved up with an average increase of +5.11..

Average movement on the chart excluding songs that moved by 0 or 1 spot was -0.06 spots (for 17 songs). Including all 28 existing songs, movement was +0.07 spots.

The biggest drop was 15 spots for "Overdrive" from Conan Gray (#6 to #21). It was the #1 song three weeks ago. The next biggest and only other double-digit drop was 10 spots for Harry Style's "Treat People With Kindness" (#8 to #18).

The biggest and only double-digit jump at 11 spots went to "Kiss Me More" from Doja Cat and SZA (#19 to #8). The next biggest jump was 9 spots for Maroon 5 and Megan Thee Stallion's "Beautiful Mistakes" (#20 to #11).

The fourth column in the table shows a song's change in rankings compared to last week. Songs with no change have a 0. New songs have a dash (-).

This is the 14th countdown of 2021 and the first one in April and the second quarter. Last week, Taylor Swift's "willow" ended Drivers License's streak at #1 and became the fifth different song to reach #1 this year. Will it continue to be #1? Scroll down to find out. An interesting note, this week I noticed at least 2 slip-ups on the countdown that referred to its former number of songs, 45. In the first part of the intro Spyder Harrison said, "Before we get to this week's fresh 45..." and there was an automated ident that said, "The 45 biggest hits in North America." It is likely these are just mistakes, but it would be nice to get back to 45 songs, even if it was 3 hours in length. This is the 13th countdown of 2021 and the final one in March and the first quarter. Last week, Drivers License was #1 for the fourth week in a row. It is now the outright the top song of 2021 with four week at #1. Will it extend its time at #1? Scroll down to find out. This week, there are 3 songs entering and 3 leaving. Joshua Bassett's "Lie Lie Lie" (was #9), Sigala/James Arthur's "Lasting Lover" (#19), and 24kGoldn's "3,2,1" (#26) are all leaving the countdown. Joshua Bassett sets a new record on the countdown for the highest ranking song to fall out of the countdown from one week to the next. The previous record was the number 13 position for Ariana Grande's "34+35" just two weeks ago on March 13. Of those 3, "Lasting Lover" was the oldest song, being on the countdown since its premiere on January 1st.
