Hits 1 Weekend Countdown - 2021 February 06

Welcome to the first countdown for the second month of the year and the sixth in 2021. Last week, Levitating from Dua Lipa and DaBaby finally became the third distinct number one song of 2021. Will it be #1 again for a second week in a row, or will a new song become the fourth distinct #1 song of 2021? How much will Olivia Rodrigo rise in the Weekend Countdown, given that she's still #1 on Billboard's Hot 100. Scroll down to find out.

Similar to last week, there was a lot of movement on the chart. There are 5 new songs this week and only 2 of the existing 25 stayed in their same spot.
Dropping out of the countdown are: "Save Myself" from Ashe, "Skin" from Sabrina Carpenter (only lasted one week), "Wonder" from Shawn Mendes, "Holy" from Justin Bieber & Chance The Rapper, and "Take You Dancing" from Jason Derulo.

Of the 5 new songs to the countdown, 4 are 'graduating' from Hit-Bound. The five songs are from the artists Tones & I, Clinton Kane, Foushee, The Kid LAROI, and Royal & The Serpent.

The fourth column in the table shows a song's change in rankings compared to last week. If there is no change, there will be a 0. New songs will have a dash (-).

This is the 14th countdown of 2021 and the first one in April and the second quarter. Last week, Taylor Swift's "willow" ended Drivers License's streak at #1 and became the fifth different song to reach #1 this year. Will it continue to be #1? Scroll down to find out. An interesting note, this week I noticed at least 2 slip-ups on the countdown that referred to its former number of songs, 45. In the first part of the intro Spyder Harrison said, "Before we get to this week's fresh 45..." and there was an automated ident that said, "The 45 biggest hits in North America." It is likely these are just mistakes, but it would be nice to get back to 45 songs, even if it was 3 hours in length. This is the 13th countdown of 2021 and the final one in March and the first quarter. Last week, Drivers License was #1 for the fourth week in a row. It is now the outright the top song of 2021 with four week at #1. Will it extend its time at #1? Scroll down to find out. This week, there are 3 songs entering and 3 leaving. Joshua Bassett's "Lie Lie Lie" (was #9), Sigala/James Arthur's "Lasting Lover" (#19), and 24kGoldn's "3,2,1" (#26) are all leaving the countdown. Joshua Bassett sets a new record on the countdown for the highest ranking song to fall out of the countdown from one week to the next. The previous record was the number 13 position for Ariana Grande's "34+35" just two weeks ago on March 13. Of those 3, "Lasting Lover" was the oldest song, being on the countdown since its premiere on January 1st.
