Hit-Bound with Mikey Piff - 2021 April 02

This is the 14th posting of Hit-Bound in 2021 and week 54 of the "Hits 1 at Home Edition" of Hit-Bound. There are 5 new songs and 1 re-entry to Hit-Bound this week.

The 5 new songs are "MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name)" from Lil Nas X, "You All Over Me (Taylor's Version)" from Taylor Swift/Maren Morris, "Up" from Cardi B, "Once In A Lifetime" from All Time Low, and "Dancing With The Devil" from Demi Lovato. The 1 returning song is "Fly Away" from Tones & I. It is falling out of the Weekend Countdown and moving back to Hit-Bound as last week it was at number 27. It had been on the countdown for 8 weeks, since February 6th.

All Time Low's song "Once In A Lifetime" is also being featured as the Weekend Countdown Extra for this week.

The 6 songs leaving Hit-Bound are "acting like that" from YUNGBLUD/Machine Gun Kelly, "POV" from Ariana Grande, "3,2,1" from 24kGoldn, "Patience" from KSI/YUNGBLUD/Polo G, "Good Days" from SZA, and "2Drunk" from Nick Jonas. "POV", "3,2,1" and "Patience" were only on Hit-Bound for 1 week, although "3,2,1" was a re-entry. POV and Patience are making a quick move over to the Weekend Countdown this week. Those are the only new songs on the Weekend Countdown and the only 2 out of the 6 that made it over.

For some reason, Spyder Harrison said on the Weekend Countdown that Olivia Rodrigo's song "Deja Vu" would be on Hit-Bound all this weekend. However, it was not included in the initial airing on Friday. In the past, there have been slightly different versions of Hit-Bound, usually between the on-demand episode and the radio airing, but the differences have been limited to the 4 Most Wutchuwanted songs.

This is the 14th countdown of 2021 and the first one in April and the second quarter. Last week, Taylor Swift's "willow" ended Drivers License's streak at #1 and became the fifth different song to reach #1 this year. Will it continue to be #1? Scroll down to find out. An interesting note, this week I noticed at least 2 slip-ups on the countdown that referred to its former number of songs, 45. In the first part of the intro Spyder Harrison said, "Before we get to this week's fresh 45..." and there was an automated ident that said, "The 45 biggest hits in North America." It is likely these are just mistakes, but it would be nice to get back to 45 songs, even if it was 3 hours in length. This is the 13th countdown of 2021 and the final one in March and the first quarter. Last week, Drivers License was #1 for the fourth week in a row. It is now the outright the top song of 2021 with four week at #1. Will it extend its time at #1? Scroll down to find out. This week, there are 3 songs entering and 3 leaving. Joshua Bassett's "Lie Lie Lie" (was #9), Sigala/James Arthur's "Lasting Lover" (#19), and 24kGoldn's "3,2,1" (#26) are all leaving the countdown. Joshua Bassett sets a new record on the countdown for the highest ranking song to fall out of the countdown from one week to the next. The previous record was the number 13 position for Ariana Grande's "34+35" just two weeks ago on March 13. Of those 3, "Lasting Lover" was the oldest song, being on the countdown since its premiere on January 1st.
